About the Mohawk Farmer

Mohawk Farms is led by Benjamin Doolittle a fraternal member of the Sha’tekari:wate; one of nine sub-clans of the Mohawk (Kanien’kehá:ka) Confederacy.

Benjamin initially got his start in growing while working with his Great-Grandfather Daniel Butler. This experience is what solidified Benjamin’s desire to continue working in an agricultural capacity.

Learning ancient and modern farming techniques first hand with his Great-Grandfather has provided him with requisite detail and trade-skills to develop his own farm business.

Mohawk Farms and nursery will grow into a fully operational farm as a way of unlocking, passing and carrying on knowledge, providing tips and tricks to get the best out of our growing seasons, our foods and our medicines. Read more
